Renaissance is located in the heart of Monroe on Route 33 which is less than 2 miles from the exit 8 of the New Jersey Turnpike. Monroe was named after President, James Monroe when it was founded in 1838. Monroe was a farming community for many years until they started building more houses. After Exit 8A was put on the New Jersey Turnpike, Monroe became more of a Suburban area. Rossmoor was first developed as the age-restricted community and after this one was built 5 more housing developments followed Rossmoor: Renaissance at Monroe, Concordia, Clearbrook, Greenbriar at Whittingham, The Ponds, Encore, and the Regency at Monroe. There are more 55+ communities under development in Monroe, NJ currently.

The location of Renaissance is in a very convenient location which makes it easier for the residents of the community to check out the areas which surround or for traveling around the East Coast. Philadelphia and New York City are only an hour away which makes it great for taking a day or weekend trip from Renaissance. There is an express bus available to New York City which runs on Route 33, which makes it easy to travel to the city.
